It’s dark outside in the morning and at night, a bit chilly and often wet…but we have had some beutiful weather! The club is still busy…with lifeguarding at St Bedes for the Beachy Head Marathon on Saturday 25 October and helping out as well as swimming at the Lions Swimathon on Saturday 22 November.
There is also a Bronze medallion course running so there will be an exam coming up soon! Good luck to everyone!
The next committee meeting is on Wednesday 29 October as well.
Sorry about the lack of news on our site lately…baby Orla seems to have taken over and we have also been away. A handful of club members made it to Wales for the National Surf Lifesaving Competition at Whitesands Bay by the tiny city of St Davids on September 13-14. A great effort by all again and a beutiful place to spend two days on the beach and in the sea.
National Surf Lifesaving Championships at Whitesands Beach in Wales October 23, 2008

A handful of members went up to Wales for the surf lifesaving nationals on September 13-14. Whitesands Bay beach by the city of St Davids was the gorgeous setting for the comp this year. There were not as many competitors as in St Ives last year but still a good turn out.
Eastbourne competed in the beach sprints, beach relays, beach flags and the long beach run. The team also took part in the surf ski, board and swim races. Some good waves made it all the more interesting!
Hope to put some more info and pics up very soon!
